Dhanbad, Dec 18: Yash Raj of Guru Govind Singh Public School (GGPS) and  Ashutosh Prasad of Delhi Public School (DPS) Chas emerged winners in the senior group of Bokaro Inter-School painting and pencil sketch competitions respectively.

The competitions were organised by Dr Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School Complex at DPS Bokaro in which  150 students of 19 schools participated. The organisers had clubbed the participants on the basis of classes.

The theme for the competition was ‘Humanity Day’.  Eminent artists Ramanujam Shekhar and CR Hembrom were judges. Principals Suraj Sharma, Soumen Chakraborty and Biswajit Patra were also present on the occasion.

Chief guest and organizers

In the closing ceremony in the evening Dr AS Gangwar, the president of Dr Radhakrishanan Sahodaya School Complex, was chief guest and gave away trophies to winners of different groups of competitions.

While addressing the participants on the occasion, Dr Gangwar said that extravaganza of expressions not only celebrates the artistic diversity but also establishes the importance of art in fostering unity, empathy and understanding. The event will stand as a testament to the thriving artistic talents within our district.

Biswajit Patra, secretary of Dr. Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School Complex, Bokaro proposed the vote of thanks.

Following students were winners of painting competition

In Group A (Classes XI-XII), Yash Raj of GGPS Bokaro, Vertika Singh of Sree Ayyappa Public School and Anisha Acharya of DPS Chas secured the 1st,  2nd and 3rd Positions respectively.

In Group B  (Classes IX-X),  Nandini Jha of Chinmaya Vidyalaya bagged the first position followed by Priti Kumari of Bokaro Public School Bokaro at the second and Pooja Kumari of Oriental Foundation School on the third position.


In Group C (Classes VI-VIII), Riddhi Chandra of SAPS, Arpan Gupta of MGM Higher Secondary School and Ananya Kumari of Mithila Academy Public School secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Positions respectively.

In Group D (Classes III-V), Dolly Kumari of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Public School clinched the top position while Agrima Samarth of Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Aradhya Choudhary of Bokaro Public School secured the 2nd and 3rd Positions respectively.

Inter School Pencil Sketch Competition

In Group A  (Classes XI-XII), Ashutosh Prasad, DPS Chas, Sidrah Tarannum, MGMHS and Sahiba Kumari, GGPS, Sec-V bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Positions respectively.

In Group B  (Classes IX-X), Samir Kr. Dev, Chinamaya Vidyalaya secured the first position followed by Varsha Kumari, GGPS, Chas at the second and Susma Tudu, Holy Cross School, and Chandankayari at the third positions respectively.


In Group C (Classes VI-VIII), Rita Kumari, A.R.S.P.S, Arpit Ojha bagged the apex position, Holy Cross School, Balidih was on the second and Piyush Kalindi, Dr Rajendra Prasad Public School secured the third position.

In Group D (Classes III-V) Suman Thakur, GGPS, Sec-V, Kumar Nawab Ali, Holy Cross School, Chandankiyari, and Garima Kumari, BPS secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Positions respectively.
