New Delhi, Dec 27: The Union Cabinet meeting on Friday remembered the contributions of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to the nation and passed a condolence resolution. Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away yesterday at the age of 92.
Today, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, among other leaders, paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the former Prime Minister at his residence.

Notably, the government has declared a seven-day state mourning following the former Prime Minister’s demise.

Manmohan Singh’s cremation will be conducted with state honors on Saturday. The ceremony is awaiting the arrival of his daughter, who resides in the United States. She is expected to reach Delhi tonight, following which the cremation will take place.
Tomorrow morning, his mortal remains will be kept at the Congress headquarters from 8 AM to 10 AM for public homage.
