PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Dec 27:  Winter is doing a vanishing act in several parts of Jharkhand during the past two days due to rise in minimum temperature caused by cloud cover.

The minimum temperature shot upto as high as 16 degrees Celsius in several places of Kolhan including Jamshedpur on Thursday.

Today, Jamshedpur recorded a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius while Ranchi recorded around 13 degrees.

Daltonganj too recorded around 13 degrees Celsius today.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre had earlier issued a forecast of light rain in northern and western parts of Jharkhand on Saturday and Sunday.

The rain would be due to the impact of a western disturbance passing through mid-troposphere at 5.8 Km above the main sea level.

Haze and clouds prevailed at several places today.

According to the forecast the minimum temperature would continue to witness a rise in the next 48 hours thereafter the minimum temperature would witness a fall.

Residents in several districts especially in the southern region could feel the sudden rise in night reading as they gave up warm clothes.
