Nijjar, a wanted Khalistani terrorist in India, was killed outside a gurdwara in Canada’s Surrey on June 18, 2023.

Following the murder, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed there was credible evidence implicating the Indian government, a claim India has strongly rejected. The allegations led to diplomatic tensions, with both countries expelling diplomats.

However, Canada has not shared any evidence with India, despite the severity of the accusations. India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, has stated that India is open to investigating any relevant information Canada may have.
