CBI team investigates alleged crimes against women and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali visit

Kolkata, April 20: In order to look into allegations of crimes against women and land grabbing, a 10-member CBI team visited Sandeshkhali in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Saturday.

A segment of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team visited the residences of the victims in the Sundarikhali region of Sandeshkhali. They engaged with the individuals there separately, documenting their accusations.

Another contingent of the team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited the Sandeshkhali Police Station and held discussions with local police officers regarding the ongoing investigation.

Following protests over the concerns, the Calcutta High Court last week ordered a CBI investigation into claims of crimes against women and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali.

The CBI was ordered by the court to look into the allegations and provide it with a thorough report.
