New Delhi, August 23: The central government on Friday sanctioned an advance release of Rs 40 crore to aid those affected by the floods in Tripura.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced via a social media post on X that, in light of the flood situation in Tripura, the central government, led by Prime Minister Modi, has approved an advance release of Rs 40 crore as the central share from the SDRF to assist those affected.

“Given the flood situation in Tripura, the central government, under the leadership of Modi Ji, has approved the release of Rs 40 crore in advance, as the central share from SDRF, to provide relief to the affected people,” Shah posted on X.

Shah also mentioned that the Centre has deployed 11 NDRF teams, three Army columns, and four Air Force helicopters to support the state government in ongoing relief and rescue efforts.

“No matter what, our sisters and brothers in Tripura will find the Modi government standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them to battle these difficult times,” Shah added in his post.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed gratitude to the Union Government for the financial assistance.

“I thank PM Narendra Modi Ji and Home Minister Amit Shah Ji for this much-needed support in the hour of grief in Tripura due to floods. The constant support from your side is helping & motivating us to firmly fight this tough situation. I on behalf of Tripura convey my regards to the caring government in the centre” the Tripura CM stated.
