Raipur, June 17: Severe heat is affecting Chhattisgarh as well as the entire northern India. Considering the intense heat in Chhattisgarh, the state government has extended the summer holidays for schools in the state until June 25.

All schools will now reopen on June 26. The School Education Department has also issued an order related to this.
Summer vacation, which was supposed to end on June 15th, has been extended due to high temperatures in a few districts, notably Raipur and Rajnandgaon, where yesterday’s maximum was about 39 degrees Celsius.

In an official order released late Sunday evening, the state’s school education department highlighted the importance of ensuring students’ safety during the ongoing heatwave. The decision seeks to alleviate the adverse health effects resulting from the intense heat prevailing across the region.

Chhattisgarh is experiencing intense heat. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Raipur (Lalpur station) was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius. While the maximum temperature in Bilaspur was 30.8 degrees Celsius, Rajnandgaon 39 degrees Celsius, Pendra 40.2 degrees Celsius, Ambikapur 32.6 degrees Celsius and Jagdalpur 35.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Center in Raipur, there is a possibility of rain with thunder at some places in the state for the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds can also blow during this period.
