Jharkhand News: Four Naxalites killed in encounter in Chaibasa, two arrested

Jamshedpur, June 17: Four Naxalites were killed on Monday during an intense encounter with security forces in the Gua police station area of West Singhbhum district, police reported.

Arms and ammunition recovered

The clash, which occurred in the Chaibasa area, has led to a significant disruption in Naxalite operations in the region.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar confirmed the incident, stating that the search operations are ongoing. The encounter resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition from the deceased Naxalites, further weakening their operational capabilities.

High-ranked Naxals killed

Among the four Naxalites killed were high-ranking members: a zonal commander, a sub-general commander, an area commander, and one female Naxalite. This loss represents a major blow to the Naxalite leadership in the area.

Two Naxals arrested

In addition to the fatalities, the security forces successfully apprehended two more Naxalites. The captured individuals include an area commander and a notorious female Naxalite known for her involvement in several high-profile operations.

The security forces’ success in this encounter underscores the ongoing efforts to combat the Naxalite insurgency in Jharkhand, aiming to restore peace and security in the region.

The authorities remain vigilant, continuing their search and ensuring the dismantling of Naxalite networks.
