SUMAN K SHRIVASTAVA

Ranchi, Nov 6: Chief Minister Hemant Soren, leading the INDI bloc campaign along with his wife Kalpana Soren today countered the BJP’s slogan of “Mati, beti, roti’ slogan, saying the BJP people did not speak a single word when tribal daughters were paraded naked in Manipur.

“Those who talk about ‘beti’ in Jharkhand have freed the rape accused in the elections,” he maintained.

Soren, campaigning in Seraikela and other constituencies, today said even after the Supreme Court’s rebuke in Gujarat, the BJP did not give up its fascination with rapists.

He said that Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, heading the development authority constituted for the north-eastern states, is roaming in Jharkhand.

He said the BJP people freed those who gang-raped Bilkis Bano in Gujarat in the elections. “Punjab’s Ram-Rahim, who is in jail on rape charges, was freed on the payroll to seek votes in the elections,” he said and added the BJP is with those people who are in jail for molesting and raping women.

Notably, the BJP is running its campaign on the “Beti, Roti, Mati’ slogan, explaining how Bangladeshi infiltrators have lured tribal daughters into marriage and grabbed their land and means of livelihood in Santhal Pargana.

“In Jharkhand, people died of hunger by eating rice in the double-engine government, whereas our government saw an epidemic like Corona, but no one died of hunger,” he pointed out.

“The people of Seraikela will press the button on the bow and arrow so much on November 13 that the eardrums of the BJP people will burst,” he said.

Notably, former Chief Minister and JMM’s estranged stalwart Champai Soren is contesting in the Seraikela constituency on the BJP ticket.

Campaigning in Chakradharpur, he said the brave and revolutionary land of Kolhan will give their blessings only to the bow and arrow, the JMM’s election symbol.

Lashing out at the BJP, Hemant Soren said that we are fighting for the rights of the tribal natives. “We have worked for them, so we have come to seek their blessings,” he said.

“You give us your strength. I take the responsibility of saving you from these devils,” he told the cheering voters.

People who talk about ‘Mati’ displaced people in Jharkhand

Hemant said that those who talk about the ‘mati’ (soil) displaced people in the name of mining and dam construction. “Here factories and mining belong to their friends. Today most of the land belongs to the tribals. These people make new policies to capture this land. We have also given a law that 75 per cent of the industries will be local. Then there will be smoke or else it will be locked,” he said.

JMM is the Great Wall of China

Hemant said that the opponents harassed him in the wrong way and put him in jail. “They aimed to topple the government and finish the JMM. But they do not know that the JMM is the Great Wall of China of this state. No one can cross it, whoever climbs this wall will be finished,” he maintained.

While directly pointing at the BJP, he said that for them there is no ED and CBI. “Charas and drugs are caught from the port of their business friends in Gujarat. But there is no ED and CBI investigation. Everything is covered up,” he alleged.

Roots of poverty in Jharkhand

The chief minister said he knew to what extent the roots of poverty had spread in Jharkhand.

“Therefore, to reduce the burden of people suffering from the blow of rising inflation, we have waived off the outstanding electricity bills of lakhs of people worth thousands and lakhs of rupees. We have also given Samman Rashi to lakhs of Maiyans, which will be increased to Rs 2500 from December,” he said.
