Ranchi, March 28: The entrance examination for admission to Class 6 in 82 state model schools in Jharkhand was conducted successfully and peacefully on Saturday,  across 60 centres in 19 districts.

The exam was organised by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) for the 2026–27 academic session. These model schools are run by the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Ranchi.

The examination was held from 11 am to 1 pm. Students reached centres well in advance, reflecting enthusiasm and preparedness.

Exam Pattern and Selection

The test consisted of multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The paper included:

  • English – 30 marks
  • Mathematics – 30 marks
  • Social Science – 40 marks

A merit list will be prepared based on the scores, and selected students will be eligible for admission to the model schools.

Smooth Conduct Across Centres

Officials said the examination was conducted in a smooth and malpractice-free manner. Necessary arrangements were made by district administrations, District Education Officers, and centre superintendents to ensure orderly conduct.

Focus on Quality Education

The model schools, affiliated with JAC, provide English-medium education from Classes 6 to 12. They aim to offer quality and modern education to talented students, particularly from rural and remote areas, and help them compete in higher education and competitive exams.

Authorities have encouraged parents to enrol their children in these schools to benefit from improved educational opportunities.
