Congress releases second list featuring 43 candidates for LS polls

New Delhi, March 12: For the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress unveiled its second list of 43 candidates on Tuesday.

The second list of candidates put up by the Congress includes 12 from Assam, 10 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan, seven from Gujarat and one from Daman and Diu.Top of Form

76.7 percent of the candidates on the list are from minority, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Castes groups, according to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal.

The list includes the names of sons of high-ranking Congress officials, such as Kamal Nath and Ashok Gehlot.

Nakul Nath, the son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, has been nominated to contest from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, where he currently serves as the incumbent Member of Parliament.

Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has been selected as the candidate from Jalore constituency in Rajasthan.

Gaurav Gogoi, whose father is former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, has been selected as the candidate for the Jorhat constituency. Gogoi currently serves as the incumbent Member of Parliament representing the Kaliabor constituency.
