Jamshedpur, Dec 13: Jharkhand is set to experience a spell of calm and dry winter weather over the coming days, with temperatures showing a gradual dip—especially at night.

According to the latest analysis from the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, no rainfall has been recorded across the state, and dry conditions are likely to persist in the near term.
Day temperatures remain comfortable to mildly cool.

Chaibasa recorded the highest maximum at around 28°C, while cities like Jamshedpur and Daltonganj hovered in the mid-20s.
Ranchi stayed cooler with a maximum close to 22–23°C, reflecting the steady grip of winter over the plateau region.
The bigger change is being felt after sunset. Minimum temperatures have dropped sharply in several districts, with Ranchi, Bokaro, Daltonganj and adjoining areas witnessing colder nights, some nearing the 8–10°C mark.
Meteorologists indicate that night temperatures may fall a little further in the next few days, increasing the chill factor during early mornings.
With no rainfall forecast and clear skies expected, fog or light mist may develop during late night and early morning hours in isolated pockets.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold, particularly children and the elderly, while farmers can take advantage of the dry weather for routine field activities.
Overall, Jharkhand is heading into a stable but colder winter phase, marked by pleasant days, crisp mornings and steadily cooling nights.
