New Delhi, Feb 5: By 11 AM on Wednesday, the single-phase Delhi Assembly elections saw a voter turnout of 19.95%, according to the Election Commission of India.
Among all districts in the national capital, the North East district reported the highest participation at 24.87%, followed by Shahdara with 23.30%. In contrast, the Central district had the lowest turnout at 16.46%.
Other districts recorded varying levels of voter participation—South West at 21.90%, East at 20.03%, North and South both at 19.75%, South East at 19.66%, North West at 19.75%, New Delhi at 16.80%, and West at 17.67%.

Polling for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi is underway in a single phase from 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM. By 9 AM, a voter turnout of 8.10% had been recorded.
According to Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), a total of 1.56 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in the election. This includes 83.76 lakh male voters, 72.36 lakh female voters, and 1,267 transgender voters. A total of 13,766 polling stations have been set up for the voting process.
699 candidates are in the fray and the results will be declared on February 8.
