Dhanbad, August 16: After the withdrawal of two nominations, a total of 102 candidates are left in the fray for 16 posts in the Dhanbad Bar Association elections.

The positions include president, vice-president, general secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, assistant treasurer, and governing council members.

The election is scheduled for August 30, while the counting of votes will be held the following day, August 31.

According to the final list released by the three-member election committee, five candidates are contesting for the post of president, six for vice-president, nine for general secretary, seven for treasurer, eight for assistant treasurer, 11 for joint secretary, and as many as 46 for governing council membership.

Candidates for Key Posts

For the post of president, the candidates are outgoing president Amrendra Kumar Sahay, Kansari Mandal, Radheyshyam Goswami, Hriday Singh, and Suresh Prasad.

The vice-presidential contest features Dhaneswar Mahto (present secretary), P. K. Bhattacharya, Jayant Chakraborty, Subodh Kumar, Rajdeo Yadav, and Arun Kumar.

The general secretary’s post has nine contenders: Jitendra Kumar (present secretary), Jaya Kumar, Dip Narayan, Ranjeet Kumar Saw, Ajay Kishore Narayan, Pravin Krishna, Bidesh Kumar Dan, Meghnath Rawani, and Wasi Ahmad Azad.

Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer Contests

For treasurer, seven candidates are in the race: Jaideo Kumar, Sheo Kumar Prasad Singh, Mukul Kumar, Kedar Nath Mahto, Dipak Shah Ganesh Narayan Pandey, and Krishna Bihari Sahay.

The assistant treasurer’s post has eight aspirants—Diwakar Prasad Srivastava, Anand Kumar Mishra, Dilip Kumar Prasad, Rajiv Kumar, Anil Kumar Trivedi, Mukund Mahto, Mahendra Gope, and Manoj Pramanik.

Joint Secretaries: Administration and Library

The joint secretary (administration) category has 11 candidates, including Amadip Kumar Roy, Braj Kishore Karn, Gajendra Kumar, Nand Lal Jha, Jagarnath Mahto, Amit Kumar Singh, Niraj Kumar, Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Gopaljee Pandey, Sanjay Kumar Rawani, and another Gajendra Kumar listed separately.

For joint secretary (library), 11 candidates are also in the fray. They include Narendra Kumar Trivedi, Subhashish Chatterjee, Kundan Kumar Verma, Rajendra Gope, Atish Kumar, Sanjev Kumar Mahto, Amal Kumar Mahto, Rana Vikram Kumar Singh, Jai Ram Mishra, Abhijeet Kumar Sadhu, and Md Anul Haque.

Large Field for Governing Council

The most crowded contest is for the governing council, with 46 candidates in the running. The list includes Md Zubair, Anant Kumar Upadhyay, Amit Kumar Modak, Deepak Kumar Ruia, Jaishankar Singh, Krishna Singh, Bibhash Kumar Mahto, Sanjay Kumar Mandal, Md Kaleem, Manoj K. Rawani, Sandeep Kaushqal, Munna Kumar Paswan, Chandan Prasad Singh, Arvind Kumar Sinha, Rohit Rahul Verma, Kumari Supriya Roy, Rupa Kumari, Kishore Kumar, Chiranjit Pramanik, Randhir Kumar Srivastava, Md Sheikh Javed, Roshan Kumar Saw, Sohangi Hansda, Rajni Kant Mahto, Chandan Santoshi, Anchal Sharma, Bharti Srivastava, Brahmdeo Kumar Singh, Lalan Gupta, Rajen Paul, S. K. Majumdar, V. K. Pandey, Viswajit Mishra, Munmun Banerjee, Madhukar Sharam, S. K. Sharma, Pinki Dhibar, Gaurav Shuman, Hira Lal Chouhan, Sadhan Roy, Karuna Tiwari, Dilip Kumar Yadav, Punam Kumari, Pimmy Khatoon, P. K. Ojha, and S. K. Ram.
