Chennai, March 20: MK Stalin, the leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), released the party’s list of 21 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday.
11 new faces are included in the DMKs first list.
Stalin also declared the party’s manifesto, affirming that it was the DMK who had formulated it prior to the election and maintained its implementation thereafter.
Tamil Nadu will conduct its voting process on April 19, with polling taking place in a single phase.
The candidates and constituencies
The DMK has nominated Kalanidhi Veerasami for the North Chennai constituency, Tamilachi Thangapandian for South Chennai, and Dayanidhi Maran for Central Chennai.

Kanimozhi has been allocated the Thuthukudi constituency, where she previously emerged victorious.
TR Balu will run for the Sriperumbatur seat, Jagathrachahan for Arakonam, Kadhir Anand for Vellore, Annadurai for Thiruvanamalai, Dharani for Aarani, Selvagapathi for Salem, Prakash for Erode, A Raja for Niligiri, Ganapathi Rajkumar for Kovai, Arun Neru for Perambalur, Murasoli for Tanjore, Thanga Tamil Selvam for Theni, and Rani for Thenkasi constituency.
The manifesto promises
As outlined in the manifesto promises, Chennai will host a branch of the Supreme Court, Puducherry will be granted state rights, Tamil will be included in Union exams, Indian citizenship will be provided to Sri Lankan Tamils who have returned to India, women across India will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 1000, toll gates on national highways will be removed, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will not be enforced, LPG will be priced at Rs 500, petrol at Rs 75, and diesel at Rs 65, and the Uniform Civil Code will not be enforced.
