Ranchi, May 7: Delhi Public School (DPS), Ranchi formally inducted its new student leadership team for the academic session 2026–27 during a grand Investiture Ceremony held at the Vivekananda Auditorium on Thursday.
The event witnessed participation from students, teachers, school officials and distinguished guests, celebrating leadership, responsibility and student empowerment.
Lt Colonel Parvin Budhvani Attends as Chief Guest
The ceremony was graced by Lt Colonel Parvin Budhvani, ADM Officer, 3 Jharkhand Girls Battalion, as the Chief Guest.

The programme began with a welcome song by the school choir, followed by a cultural dance performance by students. Principal Dr Jaya Chauhan presented a sapling and souvenirs to the Chief Guest as a symbol of growth and sustainability.

Principal Urges Students to Lead With Integrity
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Jaya Chauhan expressed confidence in the newly elected student council members and emphasised the values of accountability, empathy and service in leadership.
She encouraged students to remain resilient, work collaboratively and uphold the ethos of the institution.
The formal investiture ceremony included the appointment of School and House Appointees from both the Primary and Secondary Wings.

Atulya Shreshth (Head Girl), Prince Jain (Head Boy), Afifa Tabassum (Head Girl, Primary Wing), and Aksh Singh (Head Boy, Primary Wing) officially assumed their responsibilities after receiving the School Flag from the Chief Guest and the Principal.
The newly formed Student Council then took the oath of office, pledging to discharge their duties with sincerity and dedication.
Chief Guest Highlights Importance of Discipline and Teamwork
In her address, Lt Colonel Parvin Budhvani stressed the importance of discipline, teamwork and character in leadership. She encouraged students to embrace challenges and lead by example in academics as well as co-curricular activities.
She also praised DPS Ranchi for creating an environment that supports holistic development and leadership among students.
During the programme, the Primary Wing school magazine DIPS TIME was officially released, showcasing the creativity and achievements of students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prince Jain and Afifa Tabassum, followed by the National Anthem and a group photograph.
