Daltonganj, Dec. 29: Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University (DSPMU) Ranchi Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya has been awarded Life Time Achievement by the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
He also happens to be the acting Vice Chancellor of Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj,
The Life Time Achievement Award was offered to Dr Shandilya by the founder of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Prof Achyuta Samanta, at a grand gala function attended by a capacity gathering of 40,000 students of the multi-disciplinary institute.

The Life Time Achievement Award recognises Dr Shandilya’s valuable contributions to the promotion of higher education and teaching-learning paradigms.

Shandilya’s academic journey is long from Nalanda Open University in Bihar to Jharkhand Palamu’s Nilamber Pitamber University in Daltonganj.

Speaking to the Jharkhand Story correspondent, Shandilya said, “When someone gets Life Time Achievement award, a new journey to further achieving good for the society begins, and it gives a lot of inspiration and motivation to do many more things to the society.”
“Jharkhand has enormous talents. It has huge human resources. The need is to streamline human resources,” added the NPU acting VC.
However, he is pained to admit, “There is little thrust in research. I wish there ought to be all-inclusive research.”
Shandilya is a man of economics and has a firm conviction that the rural economy has to be well taken care of for the country’s overall growth.
