East Tech Symposium 2025 kicks off in Ranchi

Jamshedpur, Sept 19: East Tech 2025, the three-day defence symposium themed “Atmanirbharta Se Samprabhuta”, opened today at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi.

Jointly organised by HQ Eastern Command of the Indian Army, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the event brings together the Armed Forces, MSMEs, startups, and academia to boost indigenous innovation and strengthen India’s defence ecosystem.

Inaugurating the event, Governor of Jharkhand, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, called East Tech 2025 a “historic milestone” in India’s self-reliance journey.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted Jharkhand’s readiness to support the sector, while Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth urged MSMEs and youth to help achieve India’s defence export target of Rs 50,000 crore.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasised that innovation is key to leading in defence technology.

SIDM President Rajinder Singh Bhatia noted the participation of 175 exhibitors and over 400 delegates as a strong commitment to Atmanirbharta, while GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt Gen Ram Chander Tiwari underlined the importance of industry–Army collaboration.
