Ambala, Feb 19: Following the central government’s proposal on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during the fourth round of discussions, the farmer leaders said that the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march had been halted temporarily.
The farmer leaders stated their plan to engage in discussions regarding the government’s proposal on MSP, indicating that the march will resume in a peaceful manner on February 21.

Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher on Monday said, “So we will review this proposal with all our colleagues, some agricultural experts and other legal experts and then we will be able to decide what to do about it. So today we will go and have a similar discussion with our colleagues. As far as our decision to go to Delhi was concerned, it is on standby right now, we have said that today it is the 19th and on the 21st at 11 am, we will move forward peacefully.”

“In the meantime, we would like to make every effort from our side to put our point before the Centre today, its medium can be anything, then in these two days, yesterday the minister also said that there are still some things, so we will also go to Delhi and discuss with them,” he added.
Security heightened at Shambhu and Gazipur borders
Protesters are encamped at the Shambhu Border near Ambala as part of their ongoing demonstration.
Large lines of lorries, tractors and trolleys were observed at the border as the protests were paused.
In order to prevent the rebellious farmers from approaching the nation’s capital, the government has increased security at the borders of Shambhu and Gazipur. Multi-layer barricading is in place at both locations.Top of Form
Hundreds of farmers, a few journalists and police officers are said to have suffered injuries during the altercation between protesters and security personnel.
During their previous meetings on February 8, 12 and 15, the union ministers and farmer leaders were unable to reach a consensus.
Punjab’s protesting farmers have presented a range of demands, including the enactment of an ordinance to secure legal assurances for MSPs and the provision of loan waivers.
