Daltonganj, September 19: “Five ex-chief ministers are plotting against me. They and others whose number maybe 200 coming from Gujarat, MP, UP, Hyderabad, Maharashtra etc will descend here in Jharkhand in the near future,” said chief minister Hemant Soren at Peska High School ground under the Meral block in Garhwa district today.

Soren said, “They will try to steal your votes. Don’t fall in their trap. Pack them in bag and throw them out.”

Criticism of Central Govt and promises for local evelopment

Describing these people traders and capitalists as giddh (vulture) who drive away leaders of other parties, kidnap them, offer variety of temptations all to steal votes, so it’s time to be vigilant, reminded chief minister Hemant Soren. They are never for the poor, he reminded tersely.

He said, “Now the central government is ready to give fund for the PM Awas. The central government denied it to us all these 4 years and more.”

“This is very strange. When we need a house for you, fund is not around. When we launched Abuwa Awas then the central government is giving this,” he told the gathering.

Soren ducked the issue of death during the test for the excise constables. He spoke about how his government has hiked 100 percent remuneration for the para teachers, sahiyas, assistant police etc.

He said recruitment to the Lekhapal (accountant) has been purely from the people of Jharkhand.

On Bangladeshi infiltration, Soren was very diplomatic. He used a retort asking the central government to explain why the Adani power plant gives electricity to Bangladesh.

He said, “Every elderly citizen gets pension. You take Diya and torch in your hand and try to locate if any elderly citizen is without pension. You will not find anyone.”

Infrastructure and welfare initiatives launched in Garhwa and Latehar

It was a good show put up by the Garhwa administration as today it was a 2 district function, one of Garhwa and the other of Latehar.

Assets, inaugurations and foundations worth over multi crores rupees combining Garhwa and Latehar districts were done by the chief minister.

It couldn’t be ascertained as to what was in the slip of paper that Garhwa DC Shekhar Jamuar handed down twice to the security aide for the CM on the dias when Soren was speaking.

Soren who is known to take it in no good sense when he makes speech, was seen quite positive and possessive of the text of the slip. He saw it too.

The chief minister began speaking with a microphone in his hand. Later on, he went behind the podium and spoke. He was more loud and clear when he had a microphone.

Soren looked concerned about how people would manage their home going when he said “You people have come crossing Nadi, Pahar, Ooncha, Neecha and so it’s to be an early home going than any late.”

The Chief minister conceded that the programme got delayed by his late arrival.

Prior to the arrival of the chief minister, all the other important ones like Ramchander Singh, Congress MLA from Manika, Zila Parishad chief, minister Mithilesh Thakur and others had addressed the gathering and when the chief minister arrived at the venue, he after ceremonial reception, took the microphone and raised Johaar in a very high pitch.

Police bandobast was very enormous but not obstructive. SP Garhwa Deepak Kr Pandey and his team did a good job, said the locals on the phone.

DIG of Police of Palamu range Y S Ramesh was there overseeing the security aspect.
