Dhanbad, Dec 14: Giridih police claimed to have busted a syndicate of cyber criminals by arresting nine members and recovering the highest 55 mobile sets including six iPhones.
Giridih Superintendent of Police (SP) Dipak Kumar Sharma giving this information to media persons on Wednesday evening said that the arrested members of the syndicate were cheating pregnant women through fake courier services advertisements to provide the benefit of the government schemes.
“A team under cyber Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sandeep Suman arrested nine cyber criminals including a mobile sets suppliers”, he said.

The arrested cyber criminals were identified as Manish Mandal of Tilakdih village under Bhelbaghati police station, Vikash Mandal, Sagar Turi from Gandey police station area, Mustaque Ansari from Bengabad police station area, Sagir Ansari from Bengabad police station area, Ejaz Ansari, Anamul Huque, Sayum Ansari from Bengabad police station area, Ajruddin Ansari from Deoghar Budhai police station area.
SP Dipak Kumar Sharma said that besides 55 mobile phones, police also recovered 36 SIM cards, one laptop, one ATM card, two passbooks, 3 I-pads, 3 power banks, and 4 bikes from their possession.
“Ajruddin Ansari of Deoghar district was their mobile phones supplier and the police team recovered 26 sets of mobile phones including six I-phones,” said Cyber DSP Sandeep Suman and SDPI Anil Singh who were present at a media briefing.
