Jamshedpur, July 5: Little Flower School, Telco, resounded with gratitude and celebration as the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny marked 50 glorious years of their commitment to education and compassionate service.

The Golden Jubilee celebration, held today (Saturday), commemorated half a century of transformative impact on generations of students, rooted in the vision of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey.

Since assuming administration in 1975, the pioneering trio—Sr. Cecilia Kenny, Sr. Andrea D’Cruz, and Sr. Marie Cecilia Shen—laid the foundation for what would become one of Jamshedpur’s most respected educational institutions.

Over the decades, Little Flower School has blossomed into a beacon of holistic education, community outreach, and spiritual guidance under the stewardship of successive leaders from the Cluny order.

The Jubilee Mass, celebrated by Rt. Rev. Telesphore Bilung SVD, Bishop of Jamshedpur Diocese, set the tone for the day, followed by a series of cultural and spiritual presentations.

A poignant dance drama portrayed the 50-year journey of the Cluny Sisters, while a historical PowerPoint presentation revisited cherished memories and milestones.

Current principal and superior Sr. Hilda D’Souza, whose leadership has brought innovation through NEP-2020 initiatives and AI-integrated learning, reaffirmed the Cluny Sisters’ enduring mission: “To serve with love, to educate with care, and to uplift with hope.”

The school paid tribute to past visionaries including Sr. Helena Egan—who introduced the +2 level and modern science labs—and Sr. Savio, who pioneered early-childhood education through Cluny Preparatory School.

Their legacy lives on through a state-of-the-art infrastructure, including the AI Lab, Cummins Library, Timken Hall, and fully equipped sports and cultural facilities.

Sr. Sylvia, Provincial of the Cluny Sisters, addressed the gathering with a speech that honoured the selfless service and sacrifices of the Sisters.

Dignitaries, benefactors, alumni, teachers, and parents joined in the celebration, expressing gratitude for the profound impact the Cluny Sisters have had on the community.

Tata Motors, along with Tata Cummins and Tata Power, were especially acknowledged for their steadfast support, having played a vital role in the school’s development through financial and technical aid.

The event concluded with cultural performances, felicitations, and a vote of thanks—making the Golden Jubilee not only a celebration of the past, but a renewed commitment to a future of knowledge, compassion, and faith-driven excellence.
