Heatwave alert issued for several districts in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, May 10: Hot and humid weather conditions are expected to prevail across parts of Jharkhand in the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a heatwave in several districts.

According to weather experts, isolated areas in the northeastern parts of the state are likely to experience hot and humid conditions on May 11. The situation is expected to intensify from May 12 onwards.

A heatwave has been predicted at isolated places in Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj districts on May 12.

The severity of the weather is expected to spread further on May 13, with heatwave conditions likely in Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Deoghar, Jamtara, as well as continuing in Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj.

Meanwhile, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over Northeast Assam and its neighbouring areas, extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

However, no significant synoptic system currently affects Jharkhand, leaving the region vulnerable to rising temperatures and dry conditions.

Weathermen have urged residents to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid exposure to the sun during peak hours.
