New Delhi, Nov 30: For the forthcoming Five Nations Tournament Valencia 2023, which is set to take place in Valencia, Spain, from December 15 to 22, Hockey India (HI) revealed its 24-member men’s hockey squad on Thursday.
As a preparation for the FIH Hockey Pro League games in 2023–24, India will compete in the Five Nations tournament against hosts Spain, Germany, France and Belgium.
Harmanpreet Singh named captain
A combination of youthful and seasoned players make up the 24-person team, which is captained by master drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh. Harman’s deputies for this tour are Sumit and Amit Rohidas.

Goalkeepers
Along with regulars PR Sreejesh and Krishan B Pathak, the goalkeeping department will see the return of Suraj Karkera to the team.
Defence
Captain Harmanpreet Singh will lead the defensive lineup, accompanied by Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Amit Rohidas, Varun Kumar, Sumit, Sanjay, and Nilam Sanjeep Xess.
Midfield
In the midfield, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Nilakanta Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, Shamsher Singh, and emerging talents such as Yashdeep Siwach and Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem are included.
Forwards
The forward lineup consists of Mandeep Singh, Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Karthi Selvam, Dilpreet Singh, and Akashdeep Singh.
