Daltonganj, January 26: Holy Cross School, located at Shivajee Maidan in Daltonganj, celebrated Republic Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on Sunday. The school campus was filled with patriotic spirit as students, teachers, and guests came together to mark the occasion.

Students participated in the celebrations wearing different attire. While some were dressed in school uniforms, others wore army fatigues, reflecting their admiration for the armed forces. A sense of patriotism was clearly visible on every child’s face.

A Child’s Dream to Become an Army Officer Touches Hearts

One father who had come to drop his child shared an emotional moment. He said his son dreams of becoming an army officer. To encourage him, he bought an army uniform for the celebration. Initially, the child refused to attend the event as his toy gun had no bullets. On the cold winter morning, the father arranged toy bullets, after which the child happily joined the Republic Day celebration.

Teachers and Staff Make the Event Memorable

The celebration was made impressive through the collective efforts of teachers and staff, including Manoj Sinha, Sandhya, Midhat Zeya, Pooja Sharan, Imsha, Saniya, Ajit Dubey, and others, who played a key role in organising the event.

Chief Guest Highlights Role of Farmers and Soldiers

The chief guest, Avinash Verma, a senior BJP leader and a well-known face in Palamu, addressed the gathering and urged everyone to remember the importance of Kisan (farmers) and Jawan (soldiers), calling them the two pillars on which the nation stands.

He said that although farmers and soldiers may not always be highly educated, their contribution to the growth, security, and progress of the country is immense and unmatched.

Students Urged to Follow Teachings of Great Leaders

Ajay Srivastav, Principal of a prestigious school and the distinguished guest, encouraged students to follow the teachings of great leaders who played a vital role in framing the Constitution of India.

Director Speaks on Republic Day Values

School Director Chandrabhushan Sinha, while delivering the vote of thanks, spoke about the values and significance of Republic Day, emphasising discipline, unity, and constitutional ideals.

Despite the early morning winter chill, the weather remained pleasant, contributing to the success of the celebration.
