House portion collapses during repair in Jamshedpur, major mishap averted

Jamshedpur, June 29: A major tragedy was averted in Jamshedpur on Monday after a portion of an old house under renovation collapsed in Kumharpara locality of Baradwari under the Sitaramdera police station area. No one was injured in the incident.

The collapse occurred while repair and reconstruction work was underway on the ageing structure, triggering panic among residents.

Workers Escape Moments Before Collapse

According to local residents, the house belongs to Naresh Agrawal, who had undertaken repairs to its dilapidated portion.

During the renovation, part of the wall and roof suddenly gave way and crashed to the ground. The loud noise drew residents out of their homes as fears grew that workers or passers-by might have been trapped under the debris.
