I-T raids TN Minister EV Velu linked premises for fifth consecutive day

Tiruvannamalai, Nov 7: Income Tax raids have extended into the fifth consecutive day at locations associated with EV Velu, the Minister of Public Works and Highways Department in Tamil Nadu, in Tiruvannamalai.

The search operations were carried out at places that were allegedly connected to the Minister.

On Monday, I-T authorities also executed searches at the residence of Kamban, the son of EV Velu, in Thiruvannamalai. Kamban presently holds the position of Director at Arunai Medical College and Hospital in Thiruvannamalai. According to sources, the searches at Kamban’s residence have been ongoing since Friday night.

Additionally, Suresh, a financier, is being investigated by IT. IT officers searched Suresh’s home in KVP Nagar as well as his finance office in Gandhipuram.

IT raids were also carried out in a number of Tamil Nadu locales involving equipment providers and contractors working with the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).

About 10 locations in Chennai were raided last week, including India Private Limited and Radha Engineering Works Private Limited.
