Dhanbad, March 4: IIT ISM Dhanbad has launched an advanced course in collaboration with global expert Prof. Biswajeet Pradhan, aimed at equipping students with critical knowledge and skills in emerging technological areas.

The course will cover essential topics such as geospatial technology, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. The initiative seeks to prepare students with future-ready capabilities as industries increasingly rely on these advanced tools for decision-making and problem-solving.

Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry

The course curriculum is designed to include a wide range of topics, including 3D flood modeling, dam break analysis, subsidence mapping, disaster-prone area identification, terrain analysis, and watershed delineation.

Prof. SR Samadder, Associate Dean (R&D) and local coordinator, emphasized the importance of geospatial intelligence in decision-making processes and disaster mitigation strategies. This approach aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by preparing students to apply their learning in real-world scenarios.
