Dhanbad, June 18: Two faculty members from the Department of Petroleum Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad — Prof. Tarun Kumar Naiya and Prof. Keka Ojha — have been selected for the prestigious ‘Regional Technical Awards’ by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) for the South Asia and Pacific Region.
According to an official statement from IIT ISM, Prof. Tarun Kumar Naiya has been honored with the Regional Technical Award in Production and Operations, while Prof. Keka Ojha has been selected for the award in Reservoir Description and Dynamics.

The awards will be presented during the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE), scheduled for October 14, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

An IIT ISM official expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “These awards are a testament to their outstanding contributions and excellence in their respective fields.”
The institute has extended its heartfelt congratulations to both professors for this significant recognition of their technical expertise and commitment to petroleum engineering.
