IMD issues fog alert in Jharkhand for next 72 hours

Jamshedpur, Dec 12: IMD”s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of early morning fog in most parts of Jharkhand during the next 72 hours.

According to weathermen, the fog might reduce surface visibility as low as 1000 metres in some places.

Morning and evening mist is also predicted for some places.

Weathermen said no significant synoptic condition prevails in Jharkhand. Hence, dry and clear weather is expected to prevail for the next few days.

Met data revealed that the minimum temperature has dropped to as low as 10 degrees Celsius in Ranchi and its adjoining areas while the minimum reading in Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas hovered around 11 degrees Celsius.

Sona Devi University

Bokaro, Chaibasa and Deoghar recorded a minimum temperature of around 9 degrees Celsius while Ramgarh and Garhwa recorded around 8.5 degrees Celsius.

The dry and crisp weather is expected to prevail in the next few days with dominating north-westerly currents.
