India’s 24-player women’s squad for FIH Hockey Pro League announced

New Delhi, May 2: Hockey India revealed the 24-player Women’s Hockey Team set to compete in the forthcoming legs of the FIH Pro League 2023-24, to be held in Belgium and England.

The Belgium leg is scheduled to begin on May 22 and go until May 26. The England leg, on the other hand, is scheduled to start on June 1 and end on June 9.

India’s campaign will kick off against Argentina on May 22nd, followed by matches against Belgium, Spain, Great Britain, and Germany, with each team being played twice across both legs.

With eight points from eight games, India is presently in the sixth place.

Captain Salima Tete, who recently won the coveted Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year 2023 in the Women’s category at the 6th Hockey India Annual Awards 2023, will be leading the team. Navneet Kaur, a midfielder, has been chosen vice-captain of the team.
