New Delhi, Dec 25: Based on data from the Union Health Ministry, India saw a single-day increase in new COVID-19 cases of 628, while the active caseload increased to 4,054.
According to data updated at 8 am, there had been one new death reported from Kerala in the preceding 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,33,334 (5.33 lakh).
India’s cumulative count of COVID-19 cases has reached 4,50,09,248 (4.50 crore).

315 persons recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4.44 crore (4,44,71,860).
The Health Ministry’s data showed that the national recovery rate was 98.81 per cent and the case fatality rate was 1.19 per cent.
220.67 crore Covid vaccination shots have been given nationwide to date, according to the ministry’s website.
