Minor girl raped in MP’s Damoh, consumes poison

Damoh, Dec 25: A minor girl consumed poison after a youth allegedly raped her in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district.

A young person from the village broke into the residence on Sunday night and sexually assaulted the youngster, according to Damoh Police station Mahila in charge Garima Mishra. The minor was at home alone while her parents had left to attend an event. The girl ingested insecticide that was stored in the home after the incident.

When the girl’s health worsened, those in close proximity noticed and alerted her parents. The girl told the police that she had been raped after being taken to Damoh District Hospital by her family.

After the minor’s rape was confirmed by the medical examination, police filed a case under the POCSO Act and the rape laws.

The accused youth in this incident is presently at large and has not been apprehended.

The minor’s condition is still deemed critical.
