Dhanbad, February 9: The Dhanbad POCSO Court on Friday awarded 20 years jail sentence to a minor rape accused identified as Sonu Rawani, a resident of Dumra Baghmara, in a five- year old case.
While hearing the case, the special judge of POCSO Court Prabhakar Singh also slapped a penalty of Rs 15,000 on the accused, Sonu Rawani (25), besides 20 20-year jail sentence.
As per the FIR lodged by the victim’s minor girl’s father in Baghmara police station on September 17, 2019, the accused took away the girl on the night of September 10, making a false promise of marrying and raping her.
He searched for his daughter at different places but did not find her. Finally, he got information that Sonu had lured her to elope and took away to Varanasi and other places.
