Daltonganj, October 26: Now, individuals and NGOs have taken it upon themselves to create awareness about participation in voting in Daltonganj.
Palamu will go to the polls on November 13. There are massive SVEEP shows across the district which has five assembly constituencies.
Wardan Charitable Trust leads the charge
There is a popular name Sharmila Verma. She and her outfit Wardan Charitable Trust are taking a lead in creating poll awareness.

Today Sharmila Verma and her team reached Giriwar plus 2 High School and taught the students there as to why every 18 and plus youth or person must vote. There is no point in cursing the government if it does not work.
Sharmila Verma asks, “When you don’t vote, then what moral right have you to blame the government? I believe it is you only to be blamed.”

She knew the school children when they will reach their homes will surely tell their parents about the value of voting and will motivate their parents not to neglect voting.
Addressing urban apathy
Muresh Dwivedi narrated the history of elections in independent India.
Pankaj Lochan the patron of the Wardan Charitable Trust highlighted the issue of urban apathy towards voting.
Rakhi Soni concluded the session. The school’s principal, N K Dwivedi, and his team were very cooperative.
Sharmila Verma has earned a reputation for raising public concerns like road accidents, youths driving bikes and cars without caring about their safety and others, menstrual hygiene and cleanliness among girls and women etc.
Wardan Charitable Trust is thus the first to join hands with the administration regarding the systematic voter’s education and electoral participation programme.
