Ranchi, Dec. 29: Thousands of assistant teachers ( Para teachers) of the state today withdrew their two-day-old ‘ Ghera Dalo -Dera Dalo’ agitation before Raj Bhawan after getting a message from the chief minister to talk on their demands by January 10.
JMM MLA plays CM’s messenger
JMM Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu came to the Gherao spot as a special messenger of the chief minister and assured that the government would implement the agreement signed by the late education minister Jagarnath Mahto on December 14 2021.

The MLA also assured the agitators that the service rules for assistant teachers would be amended. A talk with the education secretary will also be held over pay scale and other demands by January 10. If consensus is not reached at that meeting, the chief minister will talk with the Joint Action Committee, which is comprised of assistant teachers’ leaders.

Assistant teachers’ state Committee representative Siddique Sheikh said that on the offer from the chief minister, assistant teachers of Jharkhand withdrew their ‘Ghera Dalo- Dera Dalo’ agitation from Raj Bhawan.
“If the government does not show a positive response over demands of assistant teachers, it would again launch an agitation,” he added.
Over 42,000 assistant teachers of the state had been sitting in front of Raj Bhawan under their ‘Ghera Dalo- Dera Dalo’ agitation for implementation of their charter of demands, including the implementation of the December 14, 2021 agreement, which the late education minister had signed.
