Ranchi, June 19: The Jharkhand Cabinet led by Chief Minister Champai Soren has approved a caste-based survey (caste census) in the state.

Cabinet Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadell, after the Cabinet meeting, announced in a press briefing that a caste-based survey will be conducted under the supervision of the Personnel Department.

Meanwhile, police officers will now be awarded commendation badges. This Republic Day, 120 police personnel will be awarded commendation badges.

Apart from this, approval has been granted for the amendment of the Jharkhand Civil Defence Rules 2022. The formation of the Jharkhand Judicial Service Rules 2024 has also been approved.
