Ranchi, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the modern four-lane flyover (elevated path-cum-ROB) stretching from Sirmatoli Chowk through Rajendra Chowk to MECON Golchakkar and dedicated it to the people of the state.

The Chief Minister also announced that this flyover will be named after the late Kartik Oraon, a revered son of Jharkhand.

During the World Environment Day celebrations held at Van Bhawan, Doranda, Ranchi, CM Soren planted saplings and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. He also performed rituals at the Sirmatoli Sarna site, praying for the overall development, prosperity, and peace of Jharkhand.

Efforts to Ease Traffic Congestion in Ranchi
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to the planned and systematic development of urban areas. Several projects have already been implemented on the ground, while others are in the pipeline.
He stated that the government is actively working to relieve Ranchi’s residents from chronic traffic jams. The inauguration of this flyover is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve traffic flow, and save both time and fuel for commuters.

Govt’s Commitment and Inclusive Development
Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed gratitude for public support and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to addressing the needs of every section of society, from urban to rural areas. Initiatives like improved education and the Mukhyamantri Maimai Samman Yojana for women’s empowerment demonstrate this commitment.
He said that ehile Jharkhand respects its unique cultural and environmental context, it remains open to adopting best practices from other regions tailored to local needs. The state honors its heroic freedom fighters and constitutional contributors, continuing the tradition of respect and recognition for these figures.

Environmental Protection and Sustainable Progress
Highlighting the growing environmental crisis, the Chief Minister urged collective action to preserve nature, emphasizing the importance of increasing forest cover and protecting natural resources. Jharkhand’s identity as a land of greenery and natural wealth calls for balanced development that safeguards both progress and the environment.
He stressed that laws alone are not enough; individual awareness and strong willpower are essential for real change. The government promotes eco-friendly practices and campaigns against plastic pollution, encouraging citizens to adopt sustainable alternatives to protect the environment for future generations.
