Dhanbad, May 14: Chief Minister Hemant Soren is scheduled to unveil the statue of late Binod Bihari Mahto, former Member of Parliament and one of the founding members of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on May 20. The statue will be installed on the campus of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) in Bhelatand, Dhanbad.

In anticipation of the event, Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhvi Mishra, along with ADM (Law and Order) Piyush Sinha, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kuldeep Choudhary, City SP Ajit Kumar, and Town Commissioner Raviraj Sharma, conducted an inspection of the university premises on Tuesday evening. They also reviewed the route from the airstrip to the event site.

Arrangements for Ceremony and Security
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to make adequate arrangements for the event, including proper setup of the meeting stage, a green room, and sanitation facilities on campus.
BBMKU was established in 2017, but the statue of Binod Bihari Mahto had not been installed until now. The upcoming ceremony marks a significant moment of recognition for the university named after the late leader.
Teachers’ Association to Welcome CM
The Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers’ Association (BBMKUTA) is preparing to extend a warm welcome to Chief Minister Soren during his visit. This will be the CM’s first visit to the university campus.

Dr. Amulya Suman Beck, General Secretary of BBMKUTA, stated that the teachers’ body will take the opportunity to highlight their long-pending demands and urge the Chief Minister to expedite necessary actions for their resolution.
