Ranchi, March 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s initiative to provide emergency medical transportation through air ambulance services has been proving to be a lifesaver for critically ill patients in Jharkhand.

The service has facilitated the timely transfer of 94 patients from Jharkhand to top hospitals in other states. Of these, 78 patients were airlifted from Ranchi, while 11 were from other districts.

Beneficiaries Include Both Common and Prominent Citizens

The air ambulance service has benefited not only common people but also several prominent personalities in need of urgent medical attention.

Additionally, during the recent assembly elections, multiple Jharkhand police personnel who were seriously injured on duty were airlifted to advanced medical facilities for specialized treatment.

Accessible to All, 24/7 Booking Available

The service is available to people from all sections of society, and relatives of patients can obtain information and book the air ambulance by calling the Civil Aviation Department’s helpline at +91 8210594073, which operates 24/7.

For transfers to medical facilities outside Jharkhand, the service is available at a cost of ₹55,000 per flight hour.

Fixed Routes and Charges for Air Ambulance Services

The government has set fixed rates for air ambulance services on key routes:

  • Ranchi – Delhi: ₹3.3 lakh
  • Ranchi – Mumbai: ₹4.4 lakh
  • Ranchi – Chennai: ₹3.85 lakh
  • Ranchi – Kolkata: ₹1.10 lakh
  • Ranchi – Hyderabad: ₹3.02 lakh
  • Ranchi – Varanasi: ₹1.37 lakh
  • Ranchi – Lucknow: ₹2.20 lakh
  • Ranchi – Tirupati: ₹3.85 lakh

C-90 Fixed-Wing Aircraft Available for Emergency Transport

For emergency medical transportation, the Civil Aviation Department has deployed a C-90 fixed-wing aircraft, which allows for the airlifting of one patient along with two attendants.

This initiative ensures that patients receive timely and efficient medical care in specialized hospitals across the country.
