Jamshedpur, Feb 25: In a vibrant display of Sikh culture, the Dastar Muqabla held at Sakchi Gurudwara premises brought together Sikh children and youth from Jamshedpur.
The event, organized by Sunny Bhangra Group and Royal Decor, featured impressive displays of Dastar adorned in Wattanawali, Patialashahi, and Morni styles.
Balpreet Singh Senior and Samarpreet Singh emerged victorious in the Junior group’s doubles match, while Arjun Singh clinched the Dumala match. A total of 235 enthusiastic participants showcased their dedication and concentration in the Dastar Decoration Competition, held in the Gurudwara’s courtyard.
Judged by Dastar coach Jaswant Singh Jassu and a panel of experts, the competition celebrated the technical skill and artistry of the participants. Nishan Singh, head of Sakchi Gurudwara, emphasized the cultural significance of Dastar in Sikhism, considering it a symbol of good character and maturity.

The event aimed to inspire the community and youth to embrace Dastar, fostering self-confidence among its wearers.
Dignitaries, including Takht Sri Patna Sahib General Secretary Sardar Inderjit Singh, CGPC Chairman Sardar Shailendra Singh, and others, graced the occasion, boosting the morale of participants and presenting awards.
The successful execution of the program was attributed to the collaboration of Sunny Bhangra Group and the dedicated efforts of Sukhwant Singh Sukhu, Balbir Singh, Daljit Singh, Jasbir Singh Gandhi, and Manohar Singh Mittai. The event not only showcased talent but also served as a platform to reinforce cultural pride and unity among the Sikh community in Jamshedpur.

Dastar Competition (Junior): Samarpreet Singh, Mankirat Singh, Harshpreet Singh
Dumala Competition (Independent): Arjun Singh, Sarandeep Singh, Jagroop Singh, Simran Kaur.
