Ranchi, Feb 27: Jharkhand Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon presented a budget of Rs 1 lakh 28 thousand 900 crore for the financial year 2024-25 in the Vidhan Sabha.

The Finance Minister said that the growth rate of the state in the next financial year is estimated to be 7.7 per cent.

He also said that there has been an increase in plan expenditure as compared to establishment expenditure over the past four years.

During this period, the government also took care of the farmers of the state. It was announced to increase loan waiver from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 2 lakh and farmers holding NPA accounts will also be included under this scheme.

A provision of Rs 40,606.57 crore was kept for agriculture and animal husbandry.

Key Highlights

– Kitchen cum stores will be repaired in 1000 schools in 2024-25.

– 50000 farmers will be given special training on horticultural crops.

– Rs 200 crore will be spent in distribution of agricultural equipment.

–In 2024-25, the limit of agricultural loan waiver will be increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2,00,000.

–For deepening and renovation of ponds, Rs 380 crore will be spent for 1500 deep boring works and construction of 4000 percolation tanks under Jal Nidhi Sub-Plan.

–Budget of Rs 4831 crore in Abua Housing Scheme in 2024-25.

– Rs 2238 crore will be spent on water resources for irrigation facilities and expansion of irrigation capacity.

– Rs 13.50 crore will be spent on the construction of the building of Anganwadi centre.

– For the health of pregnant women and children, a maternal kit worth Rs 1500 will be distributed among 6000 beneficiaries. 90 crores will be spent in this scheme. The kit will contain materials like mosquito net, clothes for mother and child, oil, soap, bucket.

– Rs 6.10 crore will be spent under the Disabled Welfare Scheme.

– Operation of 325 block level leader schools will be started in 2024-25.

– 4036 Panchayat level schools will be developed as model schools in the next two years.

– Labs for vocational education will be established in 117 schools.

– 19 new colleges (15 degree colleges and four women’s colleges) will be established in the state.

– A medical college will be established in Ranchi.

– RIMS will be strengthened.

– A medico city will be established on the land available in the campus of RINPAS.

– Proposal to increase the number of beneficiaries of the Food Security Scheme from 20 lakh to 25 lakh.

– The amount of commission given to PDS dealers will be increased from ₹ 100 per quintal to ₹ 150 per quintal.

– Soybean bars will be distributed to every ration card holding family of the Food Security Scheme.

– Under the Chief Minister Village Road Strengthening Scheme, 1500 kilometers of damaged rural roads built five years ago or earlier will be strengthened.

– 70 bridges will be constructed in 2024-25.

– Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 2500 kilometers of roads and 200 bridges will be constructed.

– 20,000 grid solar pumps will be distributed and installed.

– 6360 young men and women will be linked to self-employment under the PMEGP scheme.

– Investment of Rs 20,710 crore will be brought under various industrial policies, which is likely to provide direct and indirect employment to one lakh people of the state.

– 144 weavers will be given one year training in weaving and 270 artisans will be given training in various handicraft trades.

– A budget of Rs 484.87 crore has been kept for industrial development.
