Ranchi, January 12: Governor CP Radhakrishnan today lauded Union Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda for giving more than 85 Eklavya schools to Jharkhand.
‘Tribal Youth Art and Cultural Samagam
Addressing the programme ‘Tribal Youth Art and Cultural Samagam 2024’ organised by Vikas Bharti Bishunpur at Arogya Bhawan Complex, Ranchi, he said the minister is working continuously to develop the State’s tribes.
The programme was organised to mark Swami Vivekanand’s birth anniversary, which was observed as National Youth Day.
He said that the life of Swami Vivekananda makes us confident and dedicated to making the nation more powerful.

“Vikas Bharti has been continuously working towards the upliftment of tribes for the last 41 years; for this, the organisation and its secretary, Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat, deserve praise,” he added.
Governor lauds Vikas Bharti
The Governor said that Vikas Bharti has also done remarkable work in education, employment, women’s self-reliance, skill development and environmental protection.
He said that tribal communities are nature lovers. “They know a lot about herbs. Traditional skills are part of their heritage, and there is a need to hone these skills further. Jharkhand is the top State in terms of mineral wealth,” he pointed out.
Youth power
He said we can make overall development by using this resource and making joint efforts. “For this, youth power will also have to come forward,” he added.
Munda showcases PM plan for tribals
Presiding over the function, Arjun Munda informed the people present about the various works done by the Government of India for the promotion of tribal society and the upcoming schemes to be done. Also, he appreciated the new works done by Vikas Bharti for the tribal promotion every day.
He said that the mega ‘Viksit Bharat’ programme has been launched keeping every section, including primitive tribals, in view.
Among others present on the occasion were Devvrat Pahan, Area Sanghchalak, MPs Sameer Oraon, Sanjay Seth and Sunil Soren, BJP national secretary Asha Lakra, Vikas Bharti office bearers, Dr Ajay Singh and Dr Ranjana Kumari.
On this occasion, about 10,000 tribal youth and girls from far-flung villages of Jharkhand state arrived in Ranchi for the programme.
