Daltonganj, October 3: The Governor cum Chancellor of the universities of the Jharkhand government, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, is to come to Daltonganj to grace the third convocation ceremony of the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) slated for October 6, by chopper.

A tour programme of the Governor sent here to the higher-ups in the police set up confirms the arrival of the Chancellor by air.

Earlier, it was believed to be a road travel by the Governor cum Chancellor, as only a few months back, he had been to Bishrampur block in Palamu district when he had travelled all the way from Raj Bhavan to Bishrampur by road.

Convocation Ceremony Preparations

Vice Chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh said the Chancellor would be reaching the university here around 10.50 am on October 6, straight from Chiyanki airport where he would be landing some few minutes ago.

The Chancellor would be in the university till 2 pm on October 6 before leaving for the Circuit House in Daltonganj by road.

There is a whole big array of programmes to mark the third convocation ceremony of the Nilamber Pitamber University.

MPs, ministers, MLAs etc are expected to be present in the convocation ceremony.

The Chancellor will be giving away 5 Chancellor’s gold medals to boys and girls.

The examination department of the university is leaving no stone unturned to make this convocation ceremony a grand success as right from the university controller of examinations Dr Ajit Seth to Officer on Special Duty Dr Gaurav Srivastav and team are churning out degrees at neck-break speed said university sources.

Security and Special Arrangements

The Chancellor will be accompanied by the ADC (P) S S Rao Khotre.

Sources in the Civil Surgeon’s office said the Governor cum Chancellor is a partaker of ‘no onion and no garlic’ vegetarian food.

As the governors are Z plus protectee, there will be elaborate security cover for him in Daltonganj.

Sources said around 100 cops and officials will be pressed in on this day of convocation for traffic management and other security-related activities.
