Ranchi, April 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday reviewed the progress of the proposed Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School Complex to be built at the Jaguar Campus on Ring Road in Ranchi, directing officials to speed up the land identification process and ensure high standards in both infrastructure and education.

Focus on Timely Construction

During a meeting at the Jharkhand Secretariat, officials presented a detailed plan of the project, including construction design, facilities and future roadmap. The Chief Minister instructed that land identification within the Jaguar Campus be completed at the earliest so that construction can begin without delay. Officials informed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been prepared, and the land selection process is underway.

Priority for Police and Armed Forces Families

The proposed residential school will offer education from Class 1 to Class 12, with special priority in admissions for children of martyred police personnel as well as those serving in the Army and Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF). The Chief Minister said providing quality education to these families is a key priority for the state.

Emphasis on Quality and Modern Facilities

Soren directed that the school be developed as an “Outstanding” or Utkrisht Vidyalaya, with modern infrastructure and high-quality facilities. He sought details on provisions such as smart classrooms, library, ICT labs, playgrounds and sports amenities. He also stressed the need for well-equipped residential facilities, including separate hostels for boys and girls, particularly for students from Classes 6 to 12.

Parallel Focus on Healthcare Facility

The meeting also reviewed plans for a hospital at JAP-10, Hotwar, intended for police families. Officials informed that the hospital will be developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with an initial capacity of 50 beds, expandable to 100 beds in future. The Chief Minister directed that modern medical facilities and specialist doctors be ensured.

Senior Officials Present

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Vandana Dadel, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajay Kumar Singh, DGP Tadasha Mishra, School Education Secretary Umashankar Singh, ADG Manoj Kaushik, DIG Anoop Birthare and DIG Sandhya Rani Mehta, among others.
