Ranchi, Nov 30: An airlift to Delhi is scheduled for Thursday, and from there to Ranchi on Friday morning, for 15 labourers from Jharkhand who were saved from the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi.

Flight from New Delhi

As there is no direct route between Dehradun and Ranchi, they would take a plane from New Delhi to Ranchi. They will spend the night at Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi.

“15 labourers from Jharkhand would be sent to Delhi by 7.45 pm flight and then they would be made to stay at Jharkhand Bhawan for the night, after which they would be taken from Delhi to Ranchi by a morning flight the next day and will be dropped at their destination,” a Jharkhand official stated.

Medical examination

The Jharkhand government official stated that following a medical examination of the labourers stranded in the Uttarkashi tunnel accident at AIIMS Rishikesh, all of the labourers could be discharged very soon and sent to their final destination.

On Wednesday, the labourers who had been rescued from the Silkyara tunnel were sent to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), located in Rishikesh, to undergo additional medical evaluations.
