Ranchi, Feb 16: Medical officers in Jharkhand’s state government will now receive four Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) promotions, bringing them on par with their counterparts in Bihar and the central government.
Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari made this announcement while speaking as the chief guest at the installation ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA) at the IMA Hall today.
Currently, medical officers in Bihar and the central government receive four DACP promotions within 20 years, whereas Jharkhand’s medical officers receive them in 25 years. Responding to JSHSA’s demand, Dr. Ansari assured that Jharkhand would implement the same policy as Bihar and the central government, setting an example for other states.

“Jharkhand’s government will provide such facilities to its doctors that it will become a model for other states in the country,” said Dr. Ansari. He also confirmed that state dentists would receive four DACP promotions on par with their counterparts in Bihar and the central government.

Among those present at the event were newly elected JSHSA President Dr. Bimlesh Singh, Secretary Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh, IMA national body advisor Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, eight vice presidents, the convener, the treasurer, and seven joint secretaries. Also in attendance were IMA Jharkhand Secretary Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Dr. Shambu Prasad, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Dr. Prakash Chandra, Dr. Sanga, Dr. M. Aind, RDD Dr. Binod Kumar Singh, Dr. Anil Kumar (CS Koderma), Dr. Shambunath Choudhary (CS Lohardaga), and Dr. S.S. Singh.
On this occasion, JSHSA Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Lal Majhi presented certificates to the newly elected officebearers.
Civil Surgeons to Receive Facilities at Par with Deputy Commissioners
During his address, the health minister also announced that civil surgeons in all 24 districts would be provided residential and transport facilities equivalent to those of deputy commissioners (DCs). Additionally, deputy superintendents of sadar hospitals and medical officers in charge of community health centres (CHCs) would also receive transportation facilities for field visits.
Furthermore, Dr. Ansari declared that the government would lift the salary payment ban in Palamu Division, which was imposed due to biometric attendance issues. He also assured the implementation of a single OPD system (9 AM to 3 PM) at Sadar hospitals and other healthcare centres.
