Dhanbad, Sept 16: Health Minister Banna Gupta has assured the safety and security of junior doctors in the state’s medical colleges and hospitals. This assurance came during a meeting with a delegation from the IMA Junior Doctors Network (JDN) at his residence in Jamshedpur.
Action taken after incident at SBMCH Hazaribag
The minister took immediate action after learning about an incident involving a junior doctor at Hazaribag SB Medical College Hospital. Gupta sought detailed information from the hospital superintendent, Dr. Binod Kumar, and instructed Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay to increase security personnel at the hospital.
This directive followed an attack on a junior doctor by the attendants of a dengue patient, who alleged that the medical staff had neglected the patient. In response, the minister ordered the addition of 10 more security personnel to the hospital.
