Jamshedpur, Feb 24: The 3rd Edition of the Jamshedpur Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally held at Gopal Maidan garnered widespread attention, showcasing over 150 vehicles that transported spectators on a thrilling journey through the city’s rich history and vibrant present.

Sunny Singh, a passionate collector from Ranchi, proudly exhibited his 1926 Austin car, emphasizing his love for rare automobiles and expressing delight in participating in the event.

Event Highlights

Day 1 (January 24): The vintage cars and bikes were on public display at Gopal Maidan from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, captivating visitors with their timeless allure.

Day 2 (February 25): Chief Guest, Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services at Tata Steel, alongside other dignitaries will inspect the vehicles and flag off the rally at 8:30 AM. The prize distribution ceremony will follow at United Club from 11:30 AM onwards.

Celebrating heritage and innovation

Participants added to the nostalgic ambience by adorning period costumes, complementing their respective vehicles, in line with Tata Steel’s Founder’s Day celebrations. The theme, ‘Retro Rides and Modern Vibes,’ encapsulated the essence of the event, celebrating both classic elegance and contemporary dynamism.

Regional and national participation

The rally, now a hallmark event in the eastern region, attracted over 100 enthusiasts from Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Punjab. Displaying a diverse array of vehicles, including 70 vintage and classic cars and 100 bikes spanning from 1920 to 1985, the event showcased the enduring charm of automotive history.

Scenic route and culmination

Covering approximately 23 km, the rally traversed iconic landmarks such as Regal Circle, Bharucha Mansion, KS Link Road, Marine Drive, and Jubilee Park before concluding at United Club, offering participants and onlookers alike a memorable experience.

The Jamshedpur Vintage and Classic Car & Bike Rally once again proved to be a testament to the timeless allure of rare automobiles, drawing enthusiasts and spectators to celebrate the city’s heritage and innovation.
