Dhanbad, May 24: Voters of the district will get a free city bus ride after they vote on ‘D Day’ in Dhanbad tomorrow.

Announcing the bonanza for voters of Dhanbad, Municipal Corporation commissioner cum senior election officer Raviraj Sharma told media persons that after casting their vote, they (voters) will get free riding in the day on a city bus.

Polling on the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled in the 6th phase tomorrow (May 25) along with Giridih, Ranchi and Jamshedpur.

Free parking for voters

Besides free riding on the city bus by showing voting sign, the Municipal Corporation has also opened its parking for voters. Voters can park their vehicles at any commercial stand in the city free of cost during the polling hour. Proper parking arrangements have been made 200 metres away from each polling booth for the facility of voters.

The Municipal Corporation commissioner said that though all commercial parks will be closed on polling day ( May 25) till evening, the next day ( May 26) all would be made free entry for voters. The voter can avail free entry facility after showing a voting sign on their finger.

“District Chamber of Commerce and District Restaurants Association are also being consulted for a discount to voters on ‘D Day,’’ said the official.

In the 2019 election, restaurants, and cosmetics shops had given recession to voters for promotion of voting in the Dhanbad district.
